The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.ResponsibilitiesUtilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting codeConsult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systemsApply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debuggingServe as advisor or coach to new or lower level analystsIdentify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutionsResolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedentsHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industryIntermediate level experience in Applications Development roleCore Frontend Development Skills:Expertise in semantic HTML for building well-structured and accessible web pages. Understanding web standards and best practices.CSS3:Strong command of modern CSS techniques, including Flexbox, Grid, and responsive design principles. Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less) or CSS-in-JS solutions (Styled Components, Emotion). Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.JavaScript (ES6+):Expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript, including asynchronous programming (Promises, Async/Await), restructuring, arrow functions, modules, and classes. Deep understanding of the DOM, event handling, and JavaScript execution context. Knowledge of JavaScript design patterns.React Framework Expertise:Solid understanding ofReactarchitecture (components, modules, services, directives, pipes). Proficiency inReactCLI for project creation, management, and deployment. Experience withReactMaterial or other UI component libraries. Experience with NgRx or other state management solutions. Strong understanding and practical experience with Reactive Extensions for JavaScript, particularly for handling asynchronous data streams. Experience with Create React App or Next.js/Gatsby for project setup and development. Expertise with Redux (Redux Toolkit is a plus) for complex state management. Understanding of types, interfaces, and advanced type usage.Node.js & Package Managers:Familiarity with Node.js ecosystem (npm, yarn) for managing project dependencies and running build scripts.Module Bundlers:Experience with Webpack, Rollup, or Vite for bundling and optimizing frontend assets.Linting & Formatting:Proficiency with ESLint, Prettier formatting maintaining code quality and consistency.Strong understanding of RESTful principles and experience consuming REST APIs. Knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT). Familiarity with GraphQL for querying APIs. Experience withfetchAPI, Axios, or other data fetching libraries.Expertise in developing responsive and adaptive user interfaces for various screen sizes and devices.
